What is Well-being and How Can We Get MORE of it?
Eugeniia Gul • January 16, 2020
A while ago a friend of mine asked if I know what’s the sense of life is… It didn’t take much time to answer her rhetorical question and I answered her that I do… for me, the sense of life is to be happy!Humanity has always tried to reach the state of complete happiness, which includes many aspects. At least once in a lifetime one asks what this feeling is like and how it can be measured. However, it is not always possible to maintain the constant delight and sense of stability.
First of all, we should improve mental health and change our attitude to different life obstacles, to do what makes us happy and to practice happiness.
Unfortunately, nowadays, we are usually ready to sacrifice our health to achieve greater results at work, take care of the closest family-members and pay bills, which won’t be paid itself. It’s so difficult to refuse from the new tempting projects, cause “we’ve learnt how to use all the given chances and opportunities”. However, if we could stop for a moment and dive deeper into our consciousness, would we act in the same way?
Society has always put pressure on our daily choices starting from shopping and TV programmes, and ending with global options: what profession to develop in, which university to enter and how to bring the children up. In this constant flow of possible opportunities, it is vital not to forget about our wishes and aspirations.
I always take good care of my body, mind and soul. At least I try! When we’re taking care of our bodies, we’re automatically taking care of our mind and soul! Our whole organism is ideally connected, which means that once a trifle is emaciated, the effect will not take long. Respectively, we are supposed to do our best to prevent exhaustion and discouragement. On an everyday basis, our habits rule our behaviour. There must be streamlined daily actions, for which you do not need deep concentration and dedication.
Well-being helps us stay resilient, build social support and self-efficacy, and cope with adversity. But what exactly is the well-being and if it's so good for us, how do we get more of it?
My TOP 10 of being in harmony with yourself
Compliment yourself on the things you do well; acknowledge failures and learn from the failure. Mistakes build the process of learning but do not spoil everything going around. It is just a matter of perception.

2) Find a healthy dose of self-critique.
Do you like when someone critiques you? Do you like to observe crazy moms who critique their children in public places? Hopefully, you don’t. Next time before judging and criticising yourself, imagine screaming lady… I’m assuming that you don’t want to be that Walmart screaming lady, don’t you?
3) Listen to yourself.
No one knows you better than you do; no one knows what makes you happy and no one knows what is right/wrong for you. There’s nothing wrong with asking people for a piece of advice, but it’s NOT OK to follow people’s advice without acknowledging and asking yourself “Is it really good for me?”. Remember, you’re the author of your life. Not your mom, friends or partner - YOU!
4) Listen to your body.
Not to the bUddy, but bOdy, ok? We talked about buddies above. We live in the gluten-free, dairy-free etc-free world… BUT don’t be the victim of fashion, be the author of your life! You’re the ONE who knows what is good and what is NOT good for you. Just observe how your body feels and how your body reacts to the different things (it’s not only about food).
5) Read books.
Reading is a priceless activity, it has been observed that the habit of reading has declined because of the growth of technology. However, what most people don’t know is there is so much to benefit from reading, like stress relief, memory&imagination improvement, vocabulary building, communication skills improvement and many others.
6) Believe in yourself.
If not you, then who? Do not listen to others blaming on you for the flamboyant T-shirt from the last run or criticising the recently developed business idea. No matter how hard our way is, the self-delight should always be present. Remember to appreciate yourself and praise your individuality.
7) Get nutrients from foods or/and from the right vitamins&supplements.
For some people, vitamin and mineral supplements offer important health benefits.
Taking a dietary supplement is not beneficial if you're in good general health. Taking vitamin and mineral supplements will not make you healthy, but will help you to be healthier. I'm pretty sure that you know that an appointment with a doctor before taking any additional supplements is not only the necessity but a must. Besides, one is to check various resources on the Internet as well as the printed literature. You had better explore all the probable issues, up to the moment you are face-to-face with obscure medicines.
I prepared for you the list of vitamins, which may help you to be healthier and to feel better (the download link is below).
8) Nourish your body with healthy food.
Eating well for health and weight management requires understanding two components: what to eat and how to eat. Even if you have always been the person of “I prefer fast-food”, just do one small step to better knowledge. You will be amazed after finding yourself in a week subscribed to a dozen of bloggers, who are active proponents of the healthy lifestyle! It is close to impossible to pin down a telling impact of a balanced diet, but you can have no doubts concerning the effect!
9) Be active.
Our bodies are designed and have evolved to be regularly active. We all know that exercise is important in our daily lives, but we may not know why or what exercise can do for us. Just have a look at my pictures below... do you think that I was born so flexible? Of course, not! Consistent workouts, meditation and yoga will help YOU to achieve the results you want. Additionally, stretching may reduce stress and make you feel more relaxed.
Your Body Can Do It
It's Time to Convince Your Mind
10) Help others.
Helping others will make you feel better, every act of giving back your time, money or energy boost your health and happiness.
Peace of mind is associated with such personal characteristics as self-confidence, adequate self-esteem, a positive outlook on life, goodwill, sociability, and emotional stability. This coherent list impresses most insightfully! One person seems not to be able to embrace and implement in life all the components, but what if you will be the pioneer? Surely, you can start from any step, but keep in mind the main goal – is to find what makes you happy and to be happy!

Now, let's just be the observers (catch your emotion and decide how to act next). Who do you see in the picture below?! I am assuming that you see a fast walking stylish woman who wears bright clothes (she is not afraid to be seen), holding a planner (you may think that she likes to plan and values her time. In the reality, it's her product, and she published it probably because she plans everything ahead). She SMILES, which makes you feel safe to say "Hi" and start the conversation. LOVEMARK RULE N1: Let your personality speak louder than the words about what you have to offer.

๐I am a Ukrainian woman living in Los Angeles spreading my love, knowledge, and experience with others who are like me: want to be happy, and fulfilled… BUT it wasn’t always like this. ๐I struggled for years with anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-hate, and false belief of being unlovable, or lovable but CONDITIONALLY (my childhood was pretty f*cked up and I had to grow up fast). ๐I established my 1st business at the age of 18 in Ukraine and made more money than I made in the USA in the first 2 years of immigration. I invested the money I made IN myself: I immigrated at the age of 21 to a foreign land where I knew nobody to obtain my Master's Degree. ๐Before immigration, I'd been into emotional&physical abusive relationships with an alcohol addict (you attract what you think you deserve). ๐For 23 years of my life, I was overcompensating my childish misery with labels, diplomas, money, and achievements. I had a dream to work in the UN just for the working title (it calls overcompensation).

We, women, are powerful, strong, inspiring, and we have a gift to connect with others through the spoken word in different ways. The goal of the speech may be to educate, entertain, or influence the listeners. I would love to share my experience of being a part of the women speakers training "Phenomenal Woman" by Sonia Maslovskaya, the aim of which was the confidence boost and communication skills improvement. If you are like me, continuously work on yourself, then my experience of the public speaking class will be useful for you.

The below recommendations are exactly what I’m doing during the quarantine and I am sincerely sharing with you what makes me feel grounded during uncertain times, which doesn’t mean that I don’t care about the virus. On this blog post, I’m sharing some empowering home activities, which are focused on healing, self-development and grounding.

In the American Journal of Psychology it is defined in this way: "A habit, from the standpoint of psychology, is a more or less fixed way of thinking, willing, or feeling acquired through previous repetition of a mental experience." Habits are routines of behavior that are repeated regularly and tend to occur subconsciously. Believe me or not, but how happy, successful and fulfilled you are in your life is the result of your habits.
